These were the cars that brought V8 power to the mainstream Valiant range and added plush VIP versions as well as the Dodge-based Hardtop. Basic VC-VG sedans and wagons sell today in good condition at around $20,000, with excellent Regals sometimes priced much higher but realistically worth $30-35,000.

Angelo Furfaro's twin-turbo NASCAR-powered VC Valiant is street elite perfection. A BIT over 10 years ago, Angelo Furfaro bought himself a 273ci, V8-powered '67 Valiant as an occasional cruiser. It was a real survivor, as Angelo says: "It was mint - very little rust, and all the hard stuff like glass and moulds were all pretty good.".

In the United States, where only the V8 was considered to be capable of any performance, the Valiant quickly gained a small V8 engine designed with the small car in mind — the 273 V8. This engine was based on the existing A-series V8 engines, but was considerably lighter, hence the designation LA — Lightweight A.
