Strength: Great climber, aggressive frame, smooth shifting, light enough yet sturdy. Weakness: After its performance, I'd say the fork and possibly brakes. 5 posts · Joined 2005 #1 · Apr 17, 2005 New rider here. I've test ridden a number of bikes from different manufacturers, and I've narrowed it down to a couple of Kona's (Blast, Fire Mountain) and Specialized (Hardrock, Rockhopper). My price range is $500-600 and I'm 5'11" and 170lbs.
